What if my child has a disability?

Children with disabilities should be given the same opportunities to take part in sport and physical recreation as non-disabled children. The reasons for participating are exactly the same for those with disabilities as for those without: to get fitter, stronger, healthier, to make new friends, to win prizes, to have fun, to learn new skills and to be part of a team or sport. With the higher profile of events such as the Paralympic Games and athletes with disabilities this is a good time to think about getting your child involved in physical recreation.
